In October 2026, ArmSwissBank took an active part in a series of events dedicated to sustainable finance, nature conservation, and business development, which were held in Yerevan within the framework of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17). As reported by NEWS.am, the bank's participation included presentations, thematic discussions, working roundtables, and meetings with foreign partners, highlighting the role of the financial sector in turning environmental challenges into viable investment projects.

Chairman of the Board and CEO of ArmSwissBank Gevorg Machanyan, in an interview with the Regional Post publication on the eve of the conference, touched upon the institution's twenty-year experience in the field of sustainable finance and the growing role of banks in protecting Armenia's natural capital.

We believe that banks can also act as a unifying force, bringing together business, government institutions, communities, and civil society organizations around common environmental goals, said Gevorg Machanyan.

Within the framework of events organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia (AmCham Armenia), the bank shared its practice of financing business models that promote nature conservation and took part in a discussion on ESG principles and biodiversity. The delegation was represented by board member, Deputy CEO and Head of Business Development Department Ara Makaryan. Examples of co-financed projects in the fields of renewable energy, energy-efficient construction, water conservation, waste recycling, and ecotourism clearly demonstrated how environmental solutions reduce company costs.

In addition, during COP17, ArmSwissBank, together with the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), organized a meeting to exchange experience with representatives of international financial structures. The accreditation of the Green Climate Fund received by the bank in 2025 opened up new opportunities: a forthcoming joint program on financing battery energy storage systems for Armenia's transition to clean energy was presented at the conference. The bank will continue to develop financial solutions for business modernization and the preservation of the republic's natural resources.
