Guterres in Yerevan: "I am a strong supporter of the peace agreement"

UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who has arrived in Armenia for the COP17 conference, voiced strong support for the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Asked about Armenian prisoners of war still held in Baku, Guterres expressed hope that the process would move quickly in all directions and that "all those pending problems that are indeed regrettable" would be resolved.

The UN chief held talks with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the peace process and the TRIPP project.

The secretary-general's visit coincides with the COP17 leaders' summit being held in Yerevan.
