Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said Armenia has effectively frozen its participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization. He said so in an interview with France 24.

According to Pashinyan, the collective security treaty was not fulfilled with regard to Armenia, in particular in 2021 and 2022, when Azerbaijani troops entered the country's sovereign territory.

For several months Armenia has not taken part in CSTO summits and exercises and has given up its quota for the post of the organisation's deputy secretary-general.

The Kremlin said Yerevan had not sent official notifications of suspending its membership and that Moscow would continue contacts with the Armenian side.
