Iranian authorities considered the United States' response to Tehran's conditions, necessary for de-escalating the situation and opening the Strait of Hormuz, to be unsatisfactory. This was stated on Tuesday, November 3, by Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, as reported by Interfax.ru.

According to the Iranian official, the reaction proposed by Washington does not contain the proper responses to the country's legitimate demands. Rezaei emphasized on the social network X that without the unconditional fulfillment of the package of Iranian demands, the shipping regime will not be restored.

The US response to Iran's rights and demands is unconvincing. The US must fully and clearly respond to Iran's seven conditions and fulfill them; only then will the Strait of Hormuz be opened.

Doha's mediation efforts

This statement was preceded by a round of tense negotiations involving Qatari diplomats, who acted as key mediators between Tehran and Washington. Representatives of Doha spent more than 12 hours conducting consultations in the Iranian capital in an attempt to restart the interrupted dialogue between the two states. Nevertheless, on Monday, the Iranian delegation concluded its stay in Qatar.

Earlier, the Al Jazeera TV channel, citing its own sources, reported that US officials plan to study Tehran's proposals for resolving the conflict in detail, after which the parties could move on to further additional contacts.
