Rosselkhoznadzor awaits Armenia's inspection results before lifting import curbs
The restrictions affect mineral water, alcohol, vegetables, fruit and dairy products
Russia is waiting for Armenia to present the results of its investigation into violations found in Armenian products, as well as a plan to eliminate them, Rosselkhoznadzor told the newspaper Izvestia.
The agency said it expects information on the measures taken and a plan to ensure compliance with the veterinary and phytosanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Russia earlier restricted imports of a range of Armenian goods, from mineral water and alcoholic beverages to vegetables, fruit and dairy products.
On 13 August Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut, meeting Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, called product safety a key condition for resuming supplies. She pointed to requirements on the use of producers' own raw materials, pesticide control and supply traceability.
