Armenia begins preparatory work on the TRIPP route
The government will order design of roads and power lines without waiting for the company to be set up
Armenia has effectively begun implementing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a parliamentary discussion of the draft 2027 state budget.
According to the prime minister, the government itself will initiate the procurement of design work for the railway, highway and power lines envisaged by the project, without waiting for the TRIPP Development Company to be established.
"The Armenian government, on its own initiative, will launch the process of commissioning the design so that we do not lose time and can start working on the project," Pashinyan said.
Once the TRIPP Development Company is created, the government will hand over the results of the work to it. The route is to link Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan through Armenia's Syunik Province while preserving Armenian sovereignty.
