Olympics in Italy close as the flag passes to the French Alps
Armenia's figure skating pair reached the free programme
The Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo have ended. The Olympic flag has been handed over to representatives of the French Alps, which will host the Winter Games in 2030.
For Armenia the main achievement of the Olympics was the performance of figure skaters Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin. The pair skated a successful short programme and qualified for the final, free skating part of the competition.
The team's cross-country skiers and alpine skier competed in their disciplines, gaining valuable experience at the biggest event in their sports.
The organisers called the Games "two unforgettable weeks". For the first time the competitions were held across several regions of the country, hundreds of kilometres apart.
