Artur Davtyan is Olympic champion! Armenia's first gold in Paris

Armenian gymnast Artur Davtyan has won Olympic gold on vault in Paris. It is Armenia's first gold of these Games and the country's first Olympic title in artistic gymnastics.

Davtyan scored 14.966 in the final. Silver went to Britain's Harry Hepworth and bronze to American Jake Jarman.

Three years ago in Tokyo Davtyan won bronze in the same event. He is also a world and European champion.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated the athlete, calling his victory a celebration for the whole country.
