Ukrainian Boeing crashes near Tehran, killing all 176 on board
The UIA airliner went down minutes after take-off
A Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-800 operating flight PS752 from Tehran to Kyiv crashed shortly after taking off from Imam Khomeini Airport. There were 167 passengers and nine crew on board; no one survived.
The victims include citizens of Iran, Canada, Ukraine, Sweden, Afghanistan, Germany and the United Kingdom. The crash came hours after Iran launched missiles at bases hosting US troops in Iraq.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cut short a visit to Oman and ordered a commission to investigate. Ukrainian experts have flown to Tehran.
Canada, the UK and the US say they have intelligence indicating the plane may have been hit by a missile. Tehran has so far rejected the suggestion.
