The Ambassador recalled the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed on May 3, 2026, in Yerevan, which laid the foundation for long-term cooperation. He also pointed out that Armenia is a reliable economic partner, and the launch of a new air route between Yerevan and Sofia will provide an additional impetus to cultural, business, and tourism contacts.
The Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament expressed gratitude to the Bulgarian side for supporting the European Parliament resolution calling for the release of Armenian Christians held in Azerbaijan. He also pointed out the existence of significant unrealized potential in the trade and economic sphere, which the states need to utilize to the fullest extent.
In addition, Vardevanyan briefed the diplomat on the internal political situation, issues of regional security, the peace agenda, and the protection of the rule of law.
