Armenia has set 2029 as the target date for implementing the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan with the European Union, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan said at a meeting with a delegation of the EU Council's Working Party on Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The talks were attended by EU Ambassador to Armenia Vassilis Maragos and ambassadors of EU member states.

Sargsyan noted that close cooperation with the EU and a shared agenda are already producing tangible results. Maragos thanked the minister for leading the process and for reforms in the ministry and the police.

Armenia and the EU officially launched the visa liberalisation dialogue in 2024.
