An "AI factory" on Nvidia chips to be built in Armenia
Firebird announced a $500 million project
Firebird, a company based in San Francisco and Yerevan, has announced plans to build a large artificial intelligence computing centre in Armenia using Nvidia graphics processors. The project was presented at Nvidia's GTC conference in Paris.
The initial investment is estimated at 500 million dollars. The centre is expected to be equipped with thousands of new-generation Blackwell accelerators.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the Armenian government. The Ministry of High-Tech Industry believes it will allow the country to become a regional AI hub and attract new companies.
A US export licence will be required to supply the chips. The first phase of the centre is due to launch in 2026.
