Planes in Rome and other European cities inspected due to bomb threats
Several airliners were checked by emergency services at European airports following reports of explosives.
On November 3, two Ryanair passenger planes were inspected in Rome after landing due to alleged bomb threats. As reported by the Public Radio of Armenia citing the BBC, the incident in Italy was part of a series of similar incidents affecting a number of flights.
Earlier, four other flights landed at European airports after they also became targets of bomb threat reports. In connection with the received signals, specialized services began large-scale security checks.
In Warsaw, two aircraft were inspected, including a plane that had departed from London Heathrow Airport. Another airliner, heading from Manchester, was checked by specialists in the Spanish city of Murcia. An official representative of the local authorities in Murcia stated that no explosives were found on board the aircraft.
In addition, Bulgarian media reported on the landing of a plane at Sofia Airport after receiving a similar threat.
These incidents occurred a day after a flight from London Luton to Sofia made an emergency landing in Budapest due to a report of a bomb on board.
