Shant Sargsyan beats Magnus Carlsen at the World Rapid Team Championship

Armenian grandmaster Shant Sargsyan has defeated world number one Magnus Carlsen in the seventh round of the FIDE World Rapid Team Championship in Hong Kong.

The tournament, which began on 16 June, has brought together more than 40 teams and over 300 players: elite grandmasters, top women players, young talents and amateurs.

The win over Carlsen became one of the most talked-about results of the tournament. The game is available on the official broadcast platform.

Shant Sargsyan is one of the leaders of the young generation of Armenian chess players.
