According to preliminary data from the Central Electoral Commission, the Civil Contract party of acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan won 53.9% of the vote in Armenia's snap parliamentary election.

The Armenia Alliance led by second president Robert Kocharyan came second with 21%. The I Have Honor alliance, with 5.2%, will be the third force in parliament. No other contenders won seats.

Turnout was about 49%. The OSCE/ODIHR observation mission said the elections were competitive and generally well managed, but noted intense polarisation and inflammatory rhetoric.

Pashinyan declared victory. Kocharyan's bloc said it did not recognise the result and would appeal to the Constitutional Court.
