US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visits Armenia

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has arrived in Yerevan on a visit. He held talks with Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on the bilateral agenda and regional issues.

Following the meeting the sides signed bilateral documents. Rubio praised the expanding Armenian-American partnership and backed Armenia's vision for peace in the region.

Particular attention was paid to the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, which is to pass through Syunik Province.

The Armenian Assembly of America welcomed the visit and urged Washington to seek the release of Armenian prisoners still held in Baku.
