Three political forces enter parliament
Armenia's Central Electoral Commission has approved the final results of the 7 June parliamentary elections. The ruling Civil Contract party received 726,819 votes, or 49.75%.
The Strong Armenia alliance came second with 340,006 votes (23.27%) and the Armenia Alliance third with 144,983 votes (9.92%). The Prosperous Armenia party won 3.99% and failed to pass the threshold.
Turnout was 58.9%, with 1,476,769 people voting. That is noticeably higher than in the 2021 snap election.
OSCE observers said the elections met democratic standards but pointed to a tense campaign atmosphere. Opposition forces said they intended to challenge the results in the Constitutional Court.
